A cinerary urn with a helmet lid, Villanova, 9th/8th century Dark brown to black clay. One-handle urn with a constricted top and a strongly flaring rim. The surfaces have scratched and whitened geometric decoration: rectangular fields, swastikas, bands with hatched Z patterns, and bands of crosses. The helmet lid has a high sculpted crest, and decorative crosshatched bands along the lower edge. Height of the urn 39 cm. Height of the helmet 25 cm. Very good condition.
