It is thus a large apron rather than a the woman is at work in the house orelsewhere, she tucks up the apron by drawing thefront flap backwards between her legs, and tuckingit tightly into the band behind, thus reducing it tothe proportions and appearance of a small pair ofbathing-drawers. Each woman possesses also along-sleeved, long-bodied jacket of white cottonsimilar to that worn by the men; this coat isgenerally worn by both sexes when working in thefields or travelling in boats, chiefly as a protectionagainst the rays
