She was a daughter of the wonderful broodmare sire, Mambrino Chief, 11. Rex Nutwood's third dam produced Lady Mac, Turn where you may this pedigree bristles with speed ancestry, and individually he is a great young horse^ and a promising candidate for turf success, possessing capabilities of high order as to speed. Nutwood sold at auction for $22,000, and has stood at the head of popular sires for six seasons, and as evidence of his success commands a fee of $500, wuth "book filled" for five years. A Nutwood weanling sold at private sale for $6,000, highest figure ever obtained to date. That Rex Nutwood will develop into a great young horse, there can scarcely be raised a doubt, if no unseen accident overtakes him previous to maturity.
