A great manyseals, coins, stone weapons, lamps and potteryhad been found, the latter often glazed. In-numerable fragments of earthenware were strewneverywhere round about these ruins, some withinteresting ornamentations, generally blue onwhite ground. The parallel lines and heartpattern were common, while on some frag-ments of tiles could be seen quotations from theKoran in ancient Arabic. Some
