Coccinella septempunctata, Seven Spot Ladybird
The Seven Spot Ladybird is a common ladybird in Europe and an important beneficial insect, preying on aphids as both a larva and adult. Widespread in the UK, there are concerns that it is being replaced in areas by the Harlequin ladybird, Harmonia axyridis, originally from Asia. Photographed by Harry Taylor.
