Five Oaks, Nr Billingshurst, West Sussex, UK. September 24th 2016. Competitors take part in the Lawn Mower Racing World Championships at Five Oaks near Billingshurst in West Sussex. Organised by the British Lawnmower Racing Association, the event aims to provide a forum for motorsports enthusiasts without the high costs associated with car racing. The blades of the lawn mowers are removed, and they can reach speeds of up to 35 mph. Some have been given names such as Turfinator, Geronimow, Weedy Gonzales, Lawn Ranger, and Sodzilla. The lawn mowers were raced in four categories, including mowers that the 'driver' runs behind and mowers that are ridden.
