Rostral broader than deep, just visible from above; internasals as long as broad, shorter than the prgefrontals ; frontal a little longer than broad, as long as its distance from the end of the snout, shorter than the parietals ; loreal longer than deep ; one praeocular, not in contact with the frontal, or just touching ; two postoculars ; temporals 2 + 2; nine upper labials, fourth, fifth, and sixth, or fifth and sixth, entering the eye; four or five lower labials in contact with the anterior chin-shields, which are as long as the posterior. Scales in 19 rows, feebly keeled. Veutrals 230-241; anal divided ; subcaudals 108-120. Black above, each scale with a yellowish- green spot, or green with black borders to the scales; hinder part of body and tail with bright orange rings; lower parts yellowish, the shields with or without a black edge ; a black streak on each side of the head behind the eye, and another along the suture between the parietals.
