Per pkt. 5 cts.; oz. 10 cts.; *4 lb. 25 cts This grand new variety has the regular size and uniform shape of Burpee's Veiled Gem combined with the deep orange flesh and superior flavor of Emerald Gem. The fruits are nearly round or slightly oval, rather larger than Netted Gem, ribbed and heavily netted; of a light green or faint golden hue when fully ripe. The flesh is thick, of rich deep orange color, and ripens close down to the rind, with small seed cavity. The flesh is much firmer than that of our Emerald Gem, while possessing similar delicious flavor. These points combine to make an excellent ship- ping variety of handsome appearance and finest quality. The highest praise we can give the " Paul Rose" Melon is to state that it is an excel- lent market variety, and in quality ranks "next best to Emerald ; Bv express, 60 cts. per lb. The melons will weigh thirty to forty pounds each ; have a deep-green skin, which is tough enough to stand shipping. Phinney's Early is rather small, with tough mottled skin. Cole's Early,
