5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 18, 2018) Sailors and Marines assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) play cornhole on the flight deck during a steel beach picnic to celebrate the midway point of deployment. Iwo Jima is homeported in Mayport, Fla., and is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
