The bees are put, by use of a large tin tunnel, into a cage (Fig. 139) made of sections as shown Fig. in the figure. The handle makes it easy to carry them, and they get careful handling without any special request. It is said that a pound of bees can be prepared for shipment in five minutes. The cages are provisioned with « Good ; It is always safe to get a pound of bees in June or July, with a queen, expecting to have a good colony by winter.
