A burgonet of Henry II of France(1519 - 1559),end of the 19th century Copper electroplating with finely worked surface and fire gilding. Grotesque mask on the front in the shape of a horned man's head,with acanthus vines and flowers growing out of his mouth,elegantly emphasised by the dark background. The comb is in the shape of a hair braid. Height cm. The original is to be found in the Musée du Louvre,Paris()and was made by Giovan Paolo Megroli in Milan,circa 1545.
