Hoover Dam, constructed in the 1930s and 1940s is located Northeast of the Piute/Eldorado ACEC. A portion of the power generated at Hoover Dam is distributed locally by Nevada Power Company through its transmission network. However, the bulk of the power generated is transmitted to California through Southern Nevada Edison and Las Angeles Water and Power lines. In addition, the Navaho-McCullough transmission line transmits power from Page, Arizona to southern California. 4-99
