Malibu Lagoon restoration project. A multi-agency group is working to improve the estuary's ecological health (see description)

Malibu Lagoon has been plagued for years by low oxygen levels caused by eutrophication and poor water circulation. In addition the vegetation became dominated by invasive species. A major restoration project aims to improve the quality of wetland's wildlife habitat and water quality by dredging sediment and replacing invasive plant's with native species.
