The hands are resting on a pick. The plinth signed with "Ch. Levy", the front reading "Mineur par Ch. Levy - Salon des Beaux-Arts" and the back with French bronze guarantee stamp and the number "1272". Height 100 cm. Charles Octave Levy was a Parisian sculptor and pupil of Toussaint.
