Mr. Sharansky, former Dissident, Human Rights activist and Politician, is the chairman of the Adelson Institute of Strategic Studies in the Shalem Center in Jerusalem. Dr. Fredrick Kagan, Military Historian and fellow at American Enterprise Institute, is one of the main architects of the "Surge" policy in Iraq. Both participated in Adelson Institute's December 2008 Conference: "“Twenty First Century Wars: Counterinsurgency and the Challenge of Global Terrorism.” More than two hundred members of the military, judiciary, media and political establishment attended the conference.
