Northern Georgia, Oconaluftee Visitor Center and Mountain Farm Museum, Chicken
A few years ago, my sister and brother-in-law moved into their retirement dream home which they built in Union County, GA just outside Blairsville. It is a small community with only 652 residents (as of the 2010 census) in town — Union County itself only has 21,566 residents or maybe two more now. Pigs were not the only animals kept at the homestead. Chickens provided both meat and eggs for the pioneer family.
