A windmill stands by the Forte do Cego, fort number 9 of the 152 forts and earthworks of the Lines of Torres Vedras, Portugal.

280 men were garrisoned in the fort. The Lines of Torres Vedras are a series of forts and earthworks constructed during the Peninsular Wars, part of the Napoleonic Wars of the early 19th century. They formed part of Arthur Wellesley's (later the Duke of Wellington) strategy which defeated the French Army in Portugal.
