BAGGAGE CAR FOR DETAILS OF LARGE END DOOR OF CAR FOR AUTOMOBILES The New York Central recently built at their West Albanyshops two baggage cars, to be used for transporting auto-mobiles. The floor and side framing is similar to that oftheir standard baggage cars, but the roof and end framing hasbeen changed considerably because of the necessity of provid-ing a large opening at one end of the car, through which theautomobiles may be loaded. The car is 60 ft. 10 in. long overthe end sills, 10 ft wide over the eaves, and 14 ft, 3% in. fromthe rail to the top of the roof. It has two door openings oneach side, one 8 ft. and the other 4 ft. 6 In. wide, and both6 ft 51/2 in. high. The location of these doors is reversed onopposite sides. One end of the car is fitted with a standardend door, while the other end has a door opening 7 ft. 6 and 8 ft % in. high. To use a door of this height, it wasnecessary to do away with the clere-story type of roof and touse a
