ACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 24, 2016) – Seaman Doug Flakes from Omaha, Neb., left, and Seaman Romario Duncan, from Montego Bay, Jamaica, attach an aircraft tow bar to a tow tractor on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group is deployed with the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of the Navy’s maritime strategy in the 3rd Fleet area of responsibility.
