To reach Eagles Mere it is not necessary to—as is frequently the casewith mountain resorts—take a long, tiresome stage ride over rough,stony roads, but direct rail communications are made with all the principalcities of the Middle The Lake—Eagles Mere 30 Finely equipped Philadelphia & Reading express trains, with Pull-man Parlor Cars attached, leave the Reading Terminal, Philadelphia, atconvenient hours, and, making a quick run through the fertile farminglands and the coal and lumber regions of Pennsylvania, have close con-nections at Halls with trains via the Williamsport and North BranchRailroad to Sonestown, where passengers take the Eagles Mere is proposed to rim a through Pullman car from Reading Terminal toSonestown during the season. The Eagles Mere Chautauqua, annually increasing in membershipand attractions, is held July 17th to September 4th, and offers special in-ducements toi those appreciating lectures, music and other attractions ofthat character.
