Tyrannosaurus rex hunting. Illustration of a direct attack by a Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur (accompanied by a young T. rex), bringing down a Corythosaurus, a duck-billed herbivorous dinosaur. T. rex was a large bipedal theropod dinosaur that was one of the largest ever terrestrial predators. To find the amount of food it needed to sustain itself, it probably relied on a combination of hunting and scavenging. Its fossils are found in North America, and date to around 67 million years ago, during the Cretaceous.
