(July 8, 2005) Ð Navy Seabees set up a barrier to retain loose topsoil in preparation of the arrival of Hurricane Dennis on board Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport. As of 8 EDT (1200 GMT), Dennis, a Category 4 hurricane, was located 230 miles southeast of Havana, Cuba, and about 285 miles south-southeast of Key West, Florida. The storm is moving northwest at 12 mph, but is expected to start moving west-northwest. It is expected to make landfall late Sunday, July 10th 2005. The Atlantic hurricane season began June 1 and ends Nov. 30.
