This document is a payment receipt for bonds of loan made by Evan Brown in the amount of seven (7) pounds ten (10) shillings, for six (6) bonds of loan, delivered to Mrs. Eleanor Lane for "support of a negro woman named Milly and her children, who are the property of Mrs. Apphia ; The amount of payment is written at the bottom left and circled. Just below the amount is the signature of witness Thomas Brown. At the bottom right is the signature of Joseph Sanford. On the reverse is written "1807" and "Sanford's Rec'; Both sides are handwritten in black ink. The paper is uneven at the top and has been folded once horizontally and multiple times vertically.
