German soldiers assigned to the Rear Area Task Force, 21st Armoured Brigade, Bundeswehr, conduct reconnaissance patrols in a Marder 1 A2 during Allied Spirit X, April 10, 2019. Allied Spirit X includes approximately 5,600 participants from 15 nations, March 30 – April 17, 2019, at the 7th Army Training Command’s Hohenfels Training Area in southeastern Germany. Allied Spirit is a Army Europe-directed, 7th Army Training Command-conducted multinational exercise series designed to develop and enhance NATO and key partner interoperability and readiness across specified warfighting functions.
