Dozens of London Romanians and their supporters protested in Trafalgar Square against the apparent support that Chevron has from the police in Romania who have been involved in clashes with anti-fracking activists and local residents who are angry at how they have had little say in the shale gas exploration. The same protesters have demonstrated for the last 16 weeks to stop the expansion of a vast opencast mine at Rosia Montana in Transylvania. They accuse the government of selling out to foreign companies who want to exploit Romania's resources without giving a reasonable stakeholding in the ventures to local residents in affected areas.
