Hungarian Partridge Skin, dried and prepared for use in tying a variety of fishing flies, most importantly, nymphs and soft hack wet flies. I

Hungarian Partridge Skin If I was limited to one type of feather for tying soft hackle flies, the Hungarian partridge would be my choice. The Hungarian partridge produces some the most desirable feathers for tying soft hackle flies. The barbs are soft, webby and variegated or lightly speckled. The action in the water is both delicate and fluid, and appearance is buggy, to say the least. The lower neck, upper covert, and most of the body feathers are suitable for tying soft hackle flies. The feathers should tie from about a down to about a in size.
