'Le Tricolore' balloon rescue. English fishermen rescuing the French balloonist Jules Durouf (1841-1898) and his wife Caroline Durouf (1845-1933) from their balloon 'Le Tricolore', after it ditched in the North Sea off the coast of England on 1 September 1874. After the rescue, the balloon was carried away by winds and was eventually recovered in the Skagerrak strait between Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
