J/122-Class "Jacob's Ladder" leads Starlight 46 No. 8394T as they head from the Needles down to St. Catherine's Point under spinnakers. The Round the Island Race is one of the most popular and exciting fixtures on the Solent racing calendar, regularly attracting over 1,700 boats. Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, competitors from all over the world race the 60nM circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight. The race is hugely popular with novices, families, corporate groups and professionals alike, with a number of classes catering for every boat type. The 2013 race attracted 1459 entrants
