Indian pipe (Monotropa uniflora) is a non-photosynthetic flowering plant. It appears white because it lacks chlorophyll. It is parasitic on fungi that live symbiotically with trees; energy flows through the system from trees (through photosynthesis) to the fungi to the Indian pipes.
