Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company exists to challenge narrow perceptions of dance and, in particular, British Asian dance and identity. They tour with challenging theatrical performances and create educational projects, workshops and resources. The work explores contemporary issues and themes that revolve around the East and West and tradition and modernity. It draws on the classical style of Indian Bharatya Natyam.
