A native of Madagascar the Royal Poinciana Delonix regia, also called Flame tree or Gulmohar, is a wide spreading deciduous tropical tree. It may be the most colourful flowering tree in the world with its large brilliant red orange flowers occurring in numerous huge terminal clusters at the end of its branches. Delonix regia is a species of flowering plant from the Fabaceae family noted for its fern like leaves and flamboyant display of flowers. Often grown as an ornamental tree and given the name Royal Poinciana or Flamboyant it is also known as Krishnachura, Gulmohar, Peacock Flower, Flame of the Forest, Malinche and one of several named the Flame tree
