Senior Airman Devin Olmedo, 350th Air Refueling Squadron inflight refueling specialist, describes the process of refueling an aircraft with a KC-135 Stratotanker’s boom to Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall and Col. Nate Vogel, 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander, April 3, 2022, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. While at McConnell, Secretary Kendall toured a KC-135 Stratotanker followed by a flight on a KC-46A Pegasus to take an in-depth look at the air refueling airframes. The purpose was to highlight modernization and compare old and new airframe capabilities.
