The Comte de Mirabeau whose name was Gabriel Honore Riquetti (1749-1791) was elected a delegate of the Third Estate for the Estates General in 1789. He wanted to create a constitutional monarchy in France, but was unsuccessful as the French Revolution began in 1789.
