Vasily Vereshchagin, Russian artist, c1880s-c1890s. Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin (1842-1904) was a noted Russian Realist painter of battle scenes. He was one of the first Russian painters to gain widespread recognition for his work abroad. Found in the collection of the Museum of Photography History, Nizhni Novgorod, Russia.
