A Krantz Aloe, Aloe arborescens, in full bloom, against a blue sky, growing on a rock in the Kaapsce hoop region of the Great Escarpment of South Africa. The Kranz Aloe occur widespread through-out the eastern part of Southern Africa, growing especially on rocky outcrops and exposed ridges. They are also wildly cultivated both for ornamental plants as well as medicinal use, especially for the treatment of burns.
