The difference in cost was in many cases inconsider-able, and in curvilinear designs metal had the advantage. Thewriter concludes : Let any one look at the old Chinese andother railings and balconies, etc., and compare them with presentwork, and they cannot but admit the taste of present professionalgentlemen.
