Petals numerous, similar to the inner sepals, but larger, pinkish. Stamens numer- ous, borne on the tube of the calyx. Ovary green, globose; style columnar. Berry bursting, with a terminal scar, nearly or quite scaleless. Seeds tubercled. with a large sub- basal hilum.
