This is the Western rep-resentative of the preceding; it is most abundant westof the Rockies, but is also found on the Plains. Its dis-tribution is not so northerly and it nests commonly inits United States range. Their eggs are whitish, veryprofusely spotted and blotched with various shades ofbrown ()..
