International Space Station (ISS), March 2011. Numerous solar panel arrays provide power. The modules present include Zarya, Zvezda, Destiny, Columbus, Kibo, Tranquility, and the newly installed Leonardo. Closest to the camera is the docked Johannes Kepler Automated Transfer Vehicle-2 (ATV-2). The ISS has been under construction since 1998, and manned since 2000. It orbits the Earth at an altitude of several hundred kilometres. This photograph was taken on 7 March 2011, from the Space Shuttle Discovery as it departed the ISS during mission STS-133.
