The Louisiana Purchase cost the UnitedStates SI5,000,000, and after the Mexican warin 1847 Mexico was paid $15,000,000 for allher possessions north of the Rio Grande River, sowe may say that the Yellowstone Park cost theUnited States 130,000,000, with all the territoryfrom the Mississippi River to the Pacific thrownin for good measure.
