Heart-wrenching pictures show the homeless people of Washington DC struggling to get by. Some of them sleep on park benches, on door steps or wherever they can find while others carry what little belonging they own around with them. One powerful photo shows a homeless woman begging for money while wearing an Obama baseball cap and declaring her unwavering faith in God through a homemade sign. Other images show a homeless man proudly display his Washington Redskins’ hat, people sleeping on a park bench with the historic Franklin School in the background and the iconic Washington Monument towering over a man down on his luck. The incredible shots were taken by American photographer Jeff Hagerman (35) from Chicago, Illinois.
