Knockin, Shropshire - December 14th 2022 - A meteor shoots past the Knockin Radio Telescope in Shropshire during the peak of the Geminids meteor shower from Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Geminids is one of the most active showers with up to 120 per hour. The Knockin radio telescope, near Oswestry, is part of an array managed by the internationally renowned Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire. The chain of seven radio-astronomy dishes across England, including Knockin, make up the existing Merlin network (Multi-Element Radio Linked Interferometer Network).
