Essaouira, Moroccoa - January 2004; Essaouira is a historic port city and resort on MoroccoÕs Atlantic coast. Its famed Skala du Port is shown n 1766 , Sultan Sidi Mohammad ben Abdallah employed an imprisoned French architect, Genoese engineers and English builders, together with hundreds of Christian slave labourers, to construct this fortification. This historic structure can be seen in The Game Of Thrones, where it appears as the slaverÕs city Astapor.
