Kuching, state capital of Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo, is an attractive and modern city. It sits on the banks of the Santubong River, along the side of which is a pleasant promenade. At one prominent position along this promenade is a fountain, whose spouts are designed as traditional Chinese cannons, as shown in this image. The Chinese make up a major proportion of Sarawak's population, particularly in Kuching.
