A black and white German breastplate, circa 1570 Breastplate with pronounced medial ridge tapering down to a point. Offset polished linear ornaments, the neck opening with roped flanges, the edges turned back. Movable articulated arm-gussets with roped flanges, old buckle straps still attached to the shoulders. Attached skirt of three articulated lames with offset linear ornaments, the lowest lame with a semi-circular turned and roped edge. Two small, old repairs on the right-hand side of the breastplate.
