Houseboats or kettuvallam are very popular in Kerala. These are boats with fully furnished single , double, triple bedrooms. Most of them have sun decks, private balcony, kitchen and toilets. Traditional lanterns are used as lights. A unique heritage The kettuvallam (houseboats) of Kerala are giant country crafts, measuring up to 80 feet in length. Great skill and meticulousness are reqired to construct these giants by tying huge planks of jack wood together without the use of nails.
