Ichthyosaurus fossil. Fossilised skull of a Temnodontosaurus platyodon Ichthyosaurus, a fish-like marine reptile. It measured over 12 metres in length and had eyes that were 20 centimetres in diameter. T. platyiodon lived between 201 and 194 million years ago in the Lower Jurassic. This fossil was discovered by Mary Anning's brother Joseph in 1811 in Lyme Regis, Dorset, UK.
