A dusk view of the Tamar Bridges, across the Hamoaze, estuary of the River Tamar, linking Plymouth in Devon and Saltash in Cornwall, Great Britain.
The twin Tamar Bridges span the estuary of the River Tamar (called the Hamoaze), creating a major transport link between Plymouth in Devon on the east bank and Saltash in Cornwall, southwest England, on the west bank. The suspension bridge carries a road and was completed in 1961. The cantilever bridge carries a railway, and was built in the 1850s by famous British engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
