There was a special meeting of the Shumaakwe fraternityprevious to the solstice of 1896 to initiate the new Komosonaof the Kotikili into the fraternity, thathe might be provided with a mili (see p. 416). The Klakwemosi wished him to possess the sacredfetish for his visit to Kothluwalawa (see pi. iv) upon the occasion of the summer solstice ceremo-nial.
