The Odd Fellows have two Lodges and one En-campment ; the Druids have a Grove; the Germans havea Scheutzen Club, a Msennerchor, a Dramatic Society,a Turn Yerein, a Literary Society and other associa-tions. There are also a Grand Army of the Republic;a County Bible Society and other affiliations so num-erous in connection with the several churches, that noperson desiring fellowship can long remain a city has innumerable attractions for every varietyof taste. The schools and churches have beennamed in their order, but their social value as organ-izations would deserve whole pages of comment andlaudation. Our illustrations must afford some faintidea of the architectural beauty of this city, and thediscreet reader will argue from the less to the University overlooking Lake Mendota tells itsown story.
